History
In October 1942, the company left Newcastle, New South Wales, under Captain E. Schwenke with 5 officers and 226 other ranks. They arrived at Alice Springs on 24 October and then Batchelor on 11 November 1942. The company rebuilt and expanded the reticulation system at Howard Springs and the weir. Their markings can still be seen at Howard Springs on the Western side of the pool. Among the many buildings contracted was the 5DR Radio station building and a meatworks at Katherine.,
