History
The Squadron was raised at Laverton, Victoria, 26 April 1943 and equipped with Spitfires Mark Vc. It deployed to Goodenough Island, New Guinea and Los Negros in the Admiralty Islands before arriving at Sattler, 12 January 1945. It was re-equipped with Mark VIII Spitfires at Sattler. Within a month it was on its way to Morotai in the Moluccas. The Squadron was not disbanded until 1988 at Butterworth, Malayasia.,
