History
The Squadron was formed at Archerfield, Queensland, March 1942. It served with distinction at Milne Bay in Papua New Guinea before deploying to the Strauss airfield, October 1942. It took part in Operation Potshot. Keith William "Bluey" Truscott died when he crashed his Kittyhawk while serving with this Squadron. It was disbanded 29 October 1948.,
