History

Commisioned on 9 August 1941. A luxury yacht that belonged to the Southern Cross Windmill Co. in Qld. HMAS Coongoola provided yeoman service taking equipment and stores to the remote Anjo Peninsula in WA for the construction of the Truscott airfield. She was damaged during the bombing 19 February 1942.,
