Description
This report has been prepared to document the results of a desktop mapping exercise to delineate areas of potential Tindall Limestone Aquifer (TLA)-fed groundwater dependent vegetation within the Mataranka Tindall Limestone Aquifer Water Allocation Plan (WAP) area (Figure 1-1). This will ultimately provide guidance for establishing protection areas in the draft WAP.
The mapping and assessment of groundwater dependent ecosystems (GDE) requires a staged approach and the use of multiple methods, beginning with broad scale desktop assessments through to detailed field investigations of groundwater dependence of individual ecosystems and vegetation communities (e.g., Eamus et al. 2015). This report represents the beginning of the process – a desktop assessment that identifies potential areas for further investigation.,
