Abstract

The Northern Territory Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security (DEPWS) has curated the development of a range of integrated surface water and groundwater modelling tools for the Roper River and Daly River basins and inter-related aquifer systems in the ‘Top End’ wet-dry tropics region. The purpose of the integrated modelling is to provide a tool for water resource managers to assess the impact of water resource development scenarios on existing users and the environment, and thus to inform decisions relating to licence assessments, water allocation planning, and water resources monitoring and management. It is also used to identify areas for investigation to improve system understanding and conceptualisation.,
