Cattle drover, Felix Holmes - centre, Nutwood Downs Station Manager - right at Emungalan station. This was the terminus of the North Australia Railway from 1917 until 1926. Emungalan is on the north bank of the Katherine River and travellers of the day used to say that they were going to "The Katherine". After the big railway bridge was completed in 1926 a new railway station (and town) was built at Katherine and Emungalan was abandoned. It's about 2 miles from Emungalan to Katherine railway station.,
