Men around plane. DH50J G-AUHI 'Hermes' built and operated by Qantas. Flown by C. W. A. Scott it arrived at Darwin on 28 August 1928 from Hughenden, Qld, with Sir John Salmond RAF who was invited to carry out an inspection of RAAF and make recommendations to the Commonwealth Government. The flight left for Adelaide on 31 August. Flying back to Qld from Adelaide the aircraft crashed in fog. Mechanic George Nutson died from burns later the same day. Sott received burns to face and hands rescuing him.,
