Amy Johnson's plane DH60G Gipsy Moth G-AAAH 'Jason'. Departed Croydon, UK, 7am on 5 May 1930 and landed Darwin 3.55pm 24 May becoming the first woman to fly solo between England and Australia. More than 800 congratulatory telegrams arrived at the Darwin Post Office. The 'Daily Mail', an English newspaper, awarded her a prize of 10,000 pounds for the flight.,
