Albert MacDonald and his Swift No 1 Light Roadster fitted with Dunlop Roadster tyres. He rode from Adelaide to Darwin (2066 miles in 28 days, 15 hours and 30 mins). He left Port Darwin at 6.15am Monday 22 August 1898 arriving GPO Victoria Square Adelaide 9.45pm 19 September and then went on to Melbourne. The Adelaide-Darwin record was not broken until 1914 by Ted (Ryko) Reichenbach.
