Pastoral Lease 1965, Register Book v. 22, folio 36, was estimated to be 100 square miles in area and was situated approx. 75 kilometres south west of Tennant Creek and included the Namadeegee-mundamadeegee waterhole near the Bonney (Creek) and was granted to Richard Henry Scott on 5th December 1898 for the duration of 42 years. Rent was 2 pounds and 10 shillings per annum for the first 7 years and 5 pounds per annum for the second 7 years, then 10 pounds per annum for the third 7 years. The lease was cancelled for non- payment of rent 21st February 1901. Bonney Creek was named by John McDouall Stuart 1 June 1860 after Charles Bonney, Esq, late Commissioner of Crown Lands for South Australia.,
