Soil investigation work on Oak Valley (Mpwelarre) Land Trust area forms part of a broadly based work program
by the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Environment (DIPE) investigating regional water resources and
the suitability and potential of certain areas to undergo horticulture development.
This particular investigation was undertaken in response to: Prospective Areas for Horticulture Development
At Oak Valley – Mpwelarre ALT NT Por 3815, Rudy Lennartz, September 2002.
As part of the program, soils were examined in areas previously outlined from desktop studies as per Attachment 1.
This particular survey was designed to gain an understanding of the region and to enable comment to be made on
the general suitability of the soils in the area to support horticulture development.,
