Mendis Building in Bennett Street opposite A. E. Jolly and Co. (Jolly's full name: Alfred Edward Jolly). It became the temporary police station after the war for a few years and the site is now (1987) a ground level car park next to the Commercial Bank. Vehicle is 1946 or 48 Chevrolet.,
