Description

At the end of the dry season of 1981, work was undertaken in the Magela Creek to investigate the occurrence of groundwater in its sediments. As the Magela Creek collects runoff from most of the area occupied by Ranger Uranium Mines, it represents a major conduit for the potential transport of pollutants generated by the mining industry. Although the Magela Creek does not floe during most of the dry season (July to December), sediments underlying the creek could from aquifers representing permanent paths for the migrations of the contaminants. The problem was investigated., Made available via the Publications (Legal Deposit) Act 2004 (NT).,
