Description
This case study is based on a trial of the draft Guidelines for Identifying High Ecological Value Aquatic
Ecosystems. The project ‘Identifying high conservation value aquatic ecosystems in northern Australia’ was also conducted as part of the Northern Australia Water Futures Assessment. It should be recognised that this project was undertaken within a limited time frame and the framework was tested using readily available resources. Recommendations about possible HEVAEs in northern Australia are therefore provisional, but none-the-less form a significant starting point for identifying and characterising the HEVAEs of northern Australia. - Introduction,
