The purpose of the Interpretive Plan was to review and itemise the needs, demands and opportunities for interpretive facilities relating to Government House (including its grounds and general surrounds), having regard to such issues as - The general policy requirement that citizens of the Northern Territory should be afforded reasonable opportunities to understand and appreciate the Territory's most culturally significant structure - The need to interpret the site as a whole - the need to integrate the presentation and interpretation of Government House with initiatives to present and interpret other elements of the surrounding precinct., Made available via the Publications (Legal Deposit) Act 2004 (NT).,

Abstract

This document is the final report on a project commissioned by Department of Transport and Works Construction Agency (brief dated 13April 2000)to develop an Interpretive Plan for Government House. The commissioning of this work followed the recommendations of the Conservation Management Plan for Government House Precinct,
