Description

HMAS Warrnambool was a Bathurst-class corvette, commissioned in 1941 and sunk in the Great Barrier Reef following collision with a mine in 1947. The Warrnambool was in Darwin Harbour when it was bombed on 19 February 1942.,

This album was compiled by Norman Frederick Townsend (1914-2004) Service No. S6005 who served in the RAN and was based at HMAS Melville from 12 February 1942 to 21 October 1942.,
