Made available via the Publications (Legal Deposit) Act 2004 (NT)., The aim of this study was to investigate whether any traces of common environmental toxicants including herbicides, pesticides, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) could be detected in the Katherine River; and if found, whether their concentrations exceeded national guidelines for the protection of aquatic ecosystems (ANZECC/ARMCANZ 2000a); and whether the use of passive sampler technology was a suitable and practical method for the detection of toxicants in the river system.,
