"Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people operating tourism enterprises in remote Australia have
increasingly recognised the benefits of working with each other and forming enterprise clusters in the
bush. Working together enables enterprises to share resources, knowledge, networks and opportunities
to create better products and experiences for visitors. To make clustering more of a reality in Aboriginal
tourism, there is a need to ensure that business development and maintenance are guided by principles
based on culturally appropriate ways. This summary booklet provides an introduction to the Aboriginal
and Torres Strait Islander Principles of Enterprise Clustering. The principles were developed based on
outcomes from the Aboriginal Tourism Enterprise Clustering Forum held in October 2014 to complement
Western knowledge about enterprise clusters and ensure stronger, culturally appropriate enterprise
clustering." - Introduction,
