Description

This report reviews the implementation and examines the outcomes of a range of Northern Territory Department of Education and Training (DET) initiatives to improve the recruitment, retention and quality of teaching staff in very remote schools. DET’s approach to workforce development has included a special focus on Indigenous staff. Significant investments have been made in developing the local education workforce through the Indigenous Employment and Career Development Strategy, and a number of associated initiatives. This review does not aim to evaluate the effectiveness of each initiative in isolation, but rather to assess the overall strategy of building the capacity of the remote school workforce. - Page 5,
