Description

Made available via the Publications (Legal Deposit) Act 2004 (NT)., This classic view of Stuart includes several other characteristics – a tendency for enjoying hard liquor and ‘not the most prudent man with his money’, awkward in company and having a liking for being on his own in the bush, and having no place in his life for women. It is not the case, however, that there were no women in Stuart’s life, and this set of notes explores the many and varied female influences on him and contributions to his life – from his family in Scotland to those to this day who champion his cause by writing about him, celebrating his successes and generally helping to keep his spirit alive.,
