Description
Every weekend in the Territory, lawn-sales are listed on Facebook, Gumtree, or the ‘Classies'. Posters adorn roadside poles, posts and round-abouts, announcing the potential of finding something unique, nifty or practical.
For the final 2018 Curator's Cut screening, the NT Library showed the 1985 film Search for the Shell Encrusted Toilet Seat, set in Alice Springs. The film, which features commentary from anthropologist Jeff Collmann, formed the springboard for a conversation about lawn-saling as a commercial, social and cultural phenomenon with a unique Territory flavour.,
