No. 12 Squadron camp at Pell Airfield (65 mile). The unit moved to Pell on 12 July 1942 from Batchelor and set up camp on the western side of the north-south road. Conditions were quite primitive and the camp was a makeshift affair - water was carted from Pell Airfield as required or from Adelaide River. No. 12 Squadron operated Wirraways from the stripe.
