Studio portrait in Japanese national dress of the young Shigeno (Theresa) Murata, possibly taken by Broome photographer Yasukichi Murakami who in 1920 became her husband. Shigeno was born in Western Australia, interned during the War years with her family, where her husband died of heart failure in 1944. Shigeno returned to Darwin in 1957 where she died on 25 April 1981.,
