From 19 July to 20 September 1999, an aerial survey was conducted to determine the distribution and abundance of red kangaroos in the Barkly Tableland and adjacent regions of the Northern Territory. This report describes an aerial survey conducted in the Barkly region and adjacent areas to the north and south in 1999 to determine the distribution and abundance of red kangaroos. The results of this survey are used to assess the need for any management of the species in the region. Estimates of population abundance and density and mapped density distributions are provided. This report also includes density estimates for other species encountered during the survey.,
