Janet Mick was born in 1959 at Rockhamton Downs Station on the Barkly Tablelands. She attended primary school at Rockhamton Downs primary school and then onto Komilda College in Darwin until year 11 where she attended Casuarina High. Janet lived at Canteen Creek for 25 years with her late partner raising her four children. In 2006 Janet decided to move back to Tennant Creek to care for her aged mother and taking up employment to Julalikari Council Aboriginal Corporation. She started working at the Aged Care doing meals on wheels and then moved to Life Skills from 2007 to 2010, in 2011 Janet joined Julalikari Arts where she works in the administration as well as painting in her spare time. This image was made during a lunch break in the Mulger Community where Janet was cooking damper for the women of the community.,
