Alan Cobham's DH50 aircraft G-EBFO following a flight from Darwin by stages, heading for Melbourne via Sydney. Cobham had departed England on 30 June with A. B. Elliot as crew, however the latter lost his life when struck by a bullet over the Middle East. Sgt. Ward of the RAF joined Cobham as mechanic at Bushire. The DH50 arrived in Darwin on 5 August; it was configured as a floatplane and converted its undercarriages configuration on Lameroo Beach prior to the overland flight. The aircraft returned to Darwin, where it was re-equipped with floats before taking off from Darwin Harbour for England on 5 September 1926. Landing ground east of Emungalu.,
