The wreckage of two B24D-65-CO Liberators in the aircraft grave- yard at Fenton Airfield immediately post war. At left is Serial No 42-40513 'SNAFU' of the 529th Squadron 380th Bombardment Group USAAF. Normally flown by Capt Bob Horn it was snapped at Fenton following an accident with the nose wheel in September 1943. At right is 'Gus's Bus Serial No 42-40504 of the 529th Squadron 380th Bomb Group and normally flown by Maj Gus Connery, CO of the Group in late 1943. The aircraft was written off following a landing accident on 20 October 1943.,
