Elly Beinhorn, left, flew KLEMM KL-26 0-1260 arriving in Darwin on 22 March 1932 having departed Berlin on 4 December 1931, the first from Germany, with Capt. E. J. Jones who flew DH60 VH-UNQ 'Golden Shell' from Melbourne and arrived two days earlier. He was liaison officer for Elly's visit, representing Shell Oil Co. as he did for Amy Johnson in 1930.,
